The Chartwell Center is the only no-barrier school for non-verbal autistic students in New Orleans. They provide enrichment, tutoring, mentorship and ABA therapy for their scholars, which prepares them for the workforce. The NDMV member works as an assistant in classrooms, aiding educators and scholars while participating in outreach work for the Chartwell Center.
Firstline Schools is a Charter Network in New Orleans that houses the highly popular library assistant program where aspiring library professionals can run their own library.
Boys Hope Girls Hope is a live-in mentorship and tutoring program for at-risk youth in New Orleans. Scholars who do not have the stability at home to reach their academic goals are provided housing, live-in mentors and assistance meeting their appointments, testing schedules, and extra curricular activities. Boys Hope Girls Hope graduates are granted admission and often tuition assistance to a university in Louisiana.
Promise of Justice Inititative
The Promise of Justice Initiative is a legal service center in New Orleans committed to ending the prison industrial complex in Louisiana. They provide assitance for prisoners, death row innmates and people awaiting trial to keep and get people out of prison. The NDMV member aids in intake and distribution of resources for people who need help the most.
Next Level Nola is a college preparedness program for students who didn't meet the requirements to attend a four-year university in Louisiana. Scholars receive excellent tutoring in writing mathematics, science, or a trade to prepare them for higher education or technical school.
